What stays on your computer

Everything Pipto shows you. Previews are drawn by Windows itself and are never recorded, saved or uploaded. When you turn on alerts, Pipto compares tiny, low-resolution samples of the watched area in memory to notice changes; those samples are thrown away immediately.

Your preferences, saved workspaces and licence are stored in your Windows user profile (%APPDATA%\Pipto). The licence file is encrypted so only your Windows account can read it.

What goes online

Pipto connects to the internet to activate, check or deactivate your licence key. It sends the key and a device name (your PC's name and Windows user name) to Dodo Payments, who sell Pipto on our behalf.

It also sends a few anonymous usage pings to our website so we can tell the app is being used: the first launch, Pro being activated, the Buy button being clicked, a free user opening a Pro feature (once per session) and an alert firing (at most once a day). Each ping carries only the event, the app version and, where relevant, your plan (trial, free or Pro) and the alert type. Our server sees the connecting IP address and turns it into an approximate city and country; the address itself is not stored. No names, keys, window titles, screenshots or device IDs are ever sent.

The website uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies. Download and Buy clicks on the site are counted the same anonymous way.

Purchases

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. They receive the details you enter at checkout, under their privacy policy. We see your name, email and order, which we use only to support your purchase.
